Invitation to Cairns

The 2006 Meeting will be held in Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, one of Australia's most popular destinations and one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Ample opportunity will be provided to enjoy the surroundings as well as the science. Far North Queensland is the home of the Great Barrier Reef, the World Heritage Rainforests, Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands. There are sporting and adventure tours catering to a wide range of interests including snorkelling and diving on the Reef, white water rafting, bushwalking, fishing, and hot air ballooning.

Cairns has an international airport and provides a range of accommodation from 5 star hotels to family units and backpacker hotels. There are also several golf courses of an international standard. The Convention Centre is a 10 minute walk from the heart of town and close to the marina where the reef tours depart.
