Board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. This breathtaking journey is on one of the world's most scenic train routes which winds its way up through hand-hewn tunnels and across bridges with views to the quaint mountaintop village of Kuranda, nestled in World Heritage rainforest.
The remainder of your morning is free to explore the "Village in the Rainforest" Amble through the renowned local markets; visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and colourful Birdworld; or interact with the normally reclusive Koala at Koala Gardens. Sample the local fare or simply enjoy a refreshing tropical fruit ice cream.
In the afternoon board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. Gliding over and under the rainforest canopy in your suspended gondola, you will see pristine world heritage listed rainforest without having to leave a footprint. En route, we make two stops, ample opportunity to meander through the rainforest or visit to CSIRO Interpretive Centre. As we descend on the final leg towards Caravonica Lakes, feast your eyes on the stunning panoramas of Cairns and surrounding areas.

GRADE: 4 - Moderate (no experience needed, minimal swimming ability required.)
The Tully River is Australia's premier white water rafting river. Travel in our air-conditioned, video equipped coach to the upper gorge of the Tully River for a full day enjoying the thrills, spills and fantastic foaming fun on this pristine waterway.
You'll spend the day rafting through 44 rapids which will guarantee to delight and excite you and satisfy your thirst for adrenalin. Mid way down the river we pause to take in the spectacular scenery and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch on the banks of the river. Then it's back to the action in the foaming white water of the lower gorge. At the completion of our rafting adventure, we change into dry clothes and head to the famous Raging Thunder café. The whole café erupts with laughter as we watch video footage and view photos of the days rafting.
At the conclusion of a thoroughly exhilarating day, we climb back on board our coach for a relaxing journey home.

Your informative and knowledgeable driver/guide will collect you from your accommodation this morning to travel one of Australia's great scenic Highways before arriving at the Daintree River for an authentic ferry crossing. At the Daintree Environmental Centre, enjoy a refreshing morning tea before an expert guide takes you on a boardwalk to explain some of the fascinating secrets of one of the world's oldest rainforests. After the walk, guests can learn more through theatre presentations and interactive displays or obtain a closer look at life in the rainforest by ascending the Rainforest Canopy Tower.
Afterwards, we continue on to Cape Tribulation Beach as your driver explains the rich history of the area. Walk the beach or boardwalk and unwind in this tranquil setting. Our next stop is for lunch in a rainforest setting.
We join a calm water cruise of the magnificent Daintree River to observe the myriad of wildlife inhabiting this environment. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive and fearsome estuarine saltwater crocodile! The cruise ends in the quaint Daintree Village where there is time to indulge in a cup of tea or coffee before heading back to your accommodation. |
